Registration dates have been scheduled for Monday March 7 (7-9 pm) and Saturday March 26 (10 am - 12 noon). Registration cut-off for late registrants will be April 1st to allow for team and schedule preparation. The 2011 minor softball season will run for 6 weeks starting May 9 and ending June 17. The tournament date will be Saturday June 18. The tournament rain date will be Saturday June 25. Some groups may need to start their tournament on the Friday night (June 17/June 24). Both these tournament dates fall before the end of the school year (June 30).
Registration fees for 2011 are as follows - TBall (4-5 yrs) - $40 - Minor Softball (6-18 yrs) - $60.
Please print off the registration form, complete and bring with your payment to the registration. Please also note that a membership to your local community association is also required and may be purchased at the registration session.
Regarding the Bantam/Midget age groups (15-18 yrs) - Last year we were able to field a team of B/M girls through the Stittsville League. They played their home games in Kinburn and their away games in either Stittsville or Kanata. This option should be available to us again should we have the numbers. We are hoping the same options will be available to B/M boys - although the Bantams (15-16 yrs) & Midgets (17-18 yrs) play in separate groups in Stittsville. There is also the potential to play out of McNab. We will only know if we have sufficient numbers if we receive registrations. Please come out to the registration sessions and sign up. Should numbers be insufficient, then registrations will be reimbursed.
Also this year, the Fitzroy Harbour Softball Representatives are hoping to be able to field a Mites Select team (8-9 yrs). In addition to the regular softball season, those selected for the Mites Select team might have additional games and/or a tournament. Details are still in the development phase, but for those interested, please be sure to inquire at the registration.
The tryouts for this team will be open to all West Carleton players.
